AR Furniture
Redefining Home Design with Augmented Reality
Developed an AR-powered furniture app that lets users visualize true-to-scale 3D models in their homes, customize finishes, and purchase directly—bridging inspiration and reality for thousand of interior enthusiasts.
Client Goal
Revolutionize furniture shopping by:

Eliminating guesswork with 1:1 AR visualization of sofas, beds, and decor in users’ actual spaces.

Enabling multi-item staging (e.g., pairing a rug with a coffee table) and photo sharing for feedback.

Streamlining purchases: Buy standard items in-app or connect with stores for custom modular designs.
Our role

Built cross-platform AR engine

LiDAR/ARKit for iOS precision, ARCore for Android compatibility.

Real-time occlusion: Sofa legs appear behind rugs, not floating.

Created a manufacturer portal: Brands upload 3D models, set customization rules (colors, sizes), and manage custom order requests.

Integrated in-app purchases:

Instant buys for pre-configured items.

“Request Quote” for modular systems.

Added social sharing: Snap AR scenes with branded overlays (“Designed via AR Furniture”) for Instagram/TikTok.

Optimized 3D models: Compressed 4K textures for instant loading, even on 3G.
Challenges
Scale Accuracy: Ensuring a “king-size bed” model matched real-world dimensions across 100+ device screen sizes.
Material Realism: Simulating fabrics (velvet vs. linen) under dynamic lighting without lag.
Data Load: Storing 10,000+ 3D models without inflating app size (kept under 150MB via cloud streaming).
User Confidence: Teaching non-tech users to scan rooms properly.
Where Pixels Meet Pillows
AR Furniture didn’t just change how people shop — it transformed how they dream about their spaces. It’s proof that the future of retail isn’t just digital — it’s dimensional.
